Introducing our versatile one-piece, top-down poncho pattern, perfect for knitters of all skill levels! This stylish poncho can be worn in multiple ways, making it an essential addition to any wardrobe. Whether you choose vibrant hues or subtle tones, it will shine in any yarn and color combination. The poncho pattern offers two unique versions to cater to your preferences.

In Version 1, you'll begin by knitting the first part flat, allowing you to easily adjust it for a comfortable fit around your shoulders. You can stylishly cross the two ends in opposite directions and secure them with a shawl pin or a magnetic button, adding both functionality and flair. The second portion is knitted in the round, providing you the flexibility to customize the body width to your liking—whether you prefer it narrower or wider. Best of all, this version does not require cable cast-on (see the sample showcased in black and white).

Version 2 introduces the cable cast-on technique, utilized for an intricate 16-st lace panel (refer to our sample in red and grey). Similar to Version 1, this design starts off knitted flat, before being seamlessly joined to work in the round, ensuring a beautiful finish.

Both versions of this versatile poncho allow for length adjustments tailored to your style. I opted for a decorative picot bind-off, but feel free to experiment with any decorative bind-off technique that resonates with your personal aesthetic. While gauge is not pivotal for this pattern, the gauge of the pictured samples can serve as a helpful reference. Enjoy knitting this stunning poncho, and elevate your wardrobe with this chic and adaptable piece!
