- Size Options: Available in a variety of sizes: 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months, Toddler, and Child.
- Finished Head Circumference: 14 inches (0-3 months), 16 inches (3-6 months), 18 inches (6-12 months), 19.5 inches (Toddler), and 21 inches (Child) – perfect for achieving a cozy fit as your child grows!
- Knitting Gauge: Achieve a gauge of 24 stitches and 32 rows per 4 inches in stockinette stitch for a beautifully crafted hat.
- Recommended Yarn: Use Knit Picks Andean Treasure, which provides 110 yards per 50g skein. You will need 1 skein for sizes 0-3 months and 2 skeins for larger sizes (3-6 months, 6-12 months, Toddler, and Child). Alternatively, you can use sport weight yarn, with yardage recommendations of 100 yards (0-3 months) up to 144 yards (Child).
- Necessary Tools: For this project, you will need size 5 (3.75 mm) circular needles in both 24” and 16” lengths, as well as a set of 5 double-pointed needles (DPNs), and a stitch marker to keep track of your rounds.
- Add Some Charm: You will also need 1 yard of ribbon to tie around the base of the hat. Our design shows it off nicely with a ½ inch width ribbon, which adds that perfect finishing touch!
Note: The gauge may seem to increase around the forehead area due to quick ruffle decreases; therefore, please keep in mind that the head circumference may not directly correlate with gauge measurements.
