Lobelia Shawl and Shawlette

$7.00

Introducing the stunning Lobelia Shawl and Shawlette, two beautiful patterns that begin with an intricate lacy edging. Crafted using simple short rows, these crescent-shaped designs are inspired by the delicate lobed leaves that resemble the petals of a lobelia flower. Perfectly showcasing gradient yarns, these shawls are also enchanting when knit with semi-solid colors, making them a versatile addition to your knitting repertoire.

Ideal for knitters of all skill levels, the Lobelia patterns are designed for fingering weight yarn. For those looking to create a lovely shawlette, you'll need approximately 400 yards (100g) of yarn, while the larger shawl requires about 575 yards (150g). The choice between these two sizes offers you flexibility and allows you to tailor your project to your yarn stash.

The shawlette, displayed in the beautiful KnitCircus Greatest of Ease yarn in the vibrant gradient colorway named Come What May, showcases how gradient yarns can truly shine. Meanwhile, the larger shawl is featured in KnitCircus Thrilling yarn in a stunning gradient blue, aptly named Starry Night. If you prefer semi-solid options, the shawl made with Knitted Wit Shine in Tugboat (a rich semisolid blue) proves equally captivating. Note that this version used a bit more than a single skein; if your stash only has one skein of Shine, we recommend opting for the shawlette version. This particular sample was a prototype I worked on using leftover yarn from my Summertime Blues project, refining the pattern as I went along.

Whether you’re an experienced knitter or new to knitting shawls, the Lobelia Shawl and Shawlette patterns offer an engaging and rewarding project that will add an elegant touch to your wardrobe. Make your knitting journey even more enjoyable by exploring these delightful patterns today!
