Yarn Details: This pattern is designed for fingering weight yarn. Allow approximately:
Main Colour (MC): - 165 (210, 250) m - 180 (230, 275) yds

Contrast Colour 2 (CC2): - 40 (50, 55) m - 45 (55, 60) yds
Recommended Yarn: For the sample worked in size 2, we used The Fibre Company Amble, which features a luxurious blend of 70% wool, 20% alpaca, and 10% nylon. You will need one skein (325 m / 355 yds / 100 g) in the beautiful Chalk Cliffs for the main colour, and two mini skeins (81 m / 81 yds / 25 g each), one in Fair Hill for contrast colour 1 and the other in Blackbeck for contrast colour 2. Note that this yarn is slightly thicker than your typical sock yarn, giving an elevated texture and warmth.
Gauge: To ensure perfect fit and appearance, aim for a gauge of 28 stitches and 36 rows = 10 cm / 4 inches in Stockinette stitch and colourwork in the round, blocked. Accurate gauge measurement is key to achieving the desired dimensions and overall quality of your knitted piece.
Knitting Techniques Used: This pattern incorporates a variety of advanced techniques that will enhance your knitting skills, including Judy’s Magic Cast-On, lifted increases, stranded colourwork, tubular bind-off, and grafting. These methods not only add interesting elements to your project but also help you create a professional finish.
Whether you’re a seasoned knitter looking to challenge yourself or a beginner eager to learn about colourwork techniques, this pattern is perfect for your next project. Get ready to create a stunning pair of socks that showcase your creativity and style!
