Lost Banner Hat
Due to the overwhelming demand for the knitting pattern of the hat featured in my blog banner, I’m excited to share the detailed instructions with you. This delightful hat, which I've affectionately named the Lost Banner Hat, was originally crafted from a beautiful hank of worsted weight handspun yarn sourced from Fiber Optics Gradient Roving. My sweet daughter proudly wore it to school, but unfortunately, it never returned home, making it a cherished memory rather than a possession.
I loved this design so much that I created it two additional times: once in a luxurious hank of Malabrigo Worsted, and again in a lovely batch of my own handspun worsted from Dyeabolical Yarns. The Lost Banner Hat is a fantastic, quick-knit accessory that is suitable for everyone—children, women, men, and teens alike! This pattern is ideal for a one-skein project, requiring approximately 200 yards of worsted weight yarn.
One of the standout features of this hat is its stretchy extended ribbed brim, which allows it to comfortably fit a variety of head sizes with up to 3-4 inches of negative ease. Specifically, the child size has a finished measurement of 17.5 inches, while the adult size measures 19 inches. I can personally attest to its comfort, as the adult size fits perfectly on my own 22-inch head!
