Note: After wearing these beautifully crafted mittens for several days, I noted that the thumb was a tad too snug. To remedy this, I added another stitch in the gap, which fixed the problem perfectly. I'm committed to enhancing the comfort of this pattern and will update it soon. After distributing your stitches onto three needles...
Round 1: Pick up 1 stitch in the gap close to the first stitch, knit 13 stitches, and pick up another stitch in the gap close to the last stitch. Ensure that you distribute 5 stitches per needle for even sizing.

Knit until you reach the middle of the thumbnail, then on each needle, knit to the last two stitches and perform a K2tog (knit two together). This creates a refined and snug finish.

Knit one more round. For the next round, repeat the decrease round until you have 9 stitches remaining. Finally, break the yarn, leaving a long tail for finishing.
