For those who prefer a different look, this versatile hat can also be adorned with buttons instead of a flower. Additionally, the hat's length can easily be adjusted to be longer than the cap length shown in the pictures, just keep in mind that you will require extra yarn for longer styles.

The structural integrity of the brim is achieved through a specific cast-on method, a snug gauge, careful shaping, and by leaving the wraps in place unless noted otherwise. This ensures that your hat maintains its shape while providing a cozy fit.

This pattern calls for worsted weight yarn, with approximately 190 yards required for the standard cap design. If you wish to create a longer hat than the cap length depicted, please be aware that additional yarn will be necessary. The sample cap utilized nearly the entire skein of Brown Sheep worsted yarn. For the decorative knitted magnolia flower, you will need small amounts of two contrasting colors to bring your design to life.
