With the versatility to create socks in a single color, or to highlight the lace sections with a contrasting hue, you can personalize your Manacles socks to match your wardrobe. Whether you opt for a bold look or a more subtle design, the final result will be charming and distinctive.
For your project, we recommend using a 2.25mm needle (make sure to check that it corresponds to millimeters, as not all US sizes are equivalent) or any needle necessary to achieve the recommended gauge. The suggested gauge for this pattern is 9 stitches per inch in stockinette while working in the round.
As for yarn, you’ll need between 300 to 400+ yards of sock yarn in two contrasting colors. The total yardage will depend on your preference for the leg length. To ensure that the “manacle” slouches perfectly, we recommend at least 5-6 inches for the leg, although 8 inches will yield optimal results. You will need approximately 300 yards of your main color (MC) and around 100 yards for the contrasting color (CC).
