Welcome to the first installment of our exciting Mixed Drink Series, where two talented designers creatively explore the same knitting element to showcase their unique styles! In this pattern, we dive into crafting two beautifully distinct Manhattans, each with its own flavor and flair.
The Manhattan pattern features two unique slouchy lace hat designs, both expertly knit using the same light fingering yarn. While they share a common foundation, the motif, shape, and overall feel of each hat are remarkably different. My version boasts a rounder silhouette with intricate detailing at the crown, incorporating a classic rib and open motif. In contrast, my guest designer, Amy, has created a hat with deeper ribbing, a taller shape, and a striking combination of an unusual cable cross and lace design. To add to the fun, I chose a deep red hue for my hat, while Amy opted for a warm Spicy Brown!
Please note that the yardage requirement is relatively high, as the yarn is held doubled for added warmth and texture. If you wish to substitute a DK yarn, you can easily knit with half the quantity; just be sure to check your gauge for the best results.
My hat is beautifully crafted in Foxfire Cormo Alpaca Lace in a vibrant Amaryllis color, while Amy's stunning creation is made with Foxfire Cormo Camel Silk in a rich Bittersweet shade. We also provide alternative yarn suggestions to help you find the perfect match. The amounts specified are for one hat, ensuring you have everything you need to create your own stylish and cozy design.
