Marcia's Blue Ribbon Winning Jacket
In the summer of 2011, I proudly earned a 1st Place Blue Ribbon at the county fair for my beautifully crafted kimono jacket ensemble, which featured this jacket along with a matching purse, necklace, earrings, and shawl pin. My vision was to create a loosely fitting, flowing jacket with an elegant drape that would be perfect for "dress up" occasions — and I believe I achieved that!
I am excited to offer the knitting pattern for the jacket only. This pattern is an easy knit designed in one piece, making it accessible for many knitters. However, I have designated it as an Intermediate skill level knit due to the need to pick up stitches. Additionally, you'll need to be familiar with single crochet and reverse single crochet techniques. The jacket’s unstructured design allows it to beautifully flatter women who wear sizes Small through Extra Large, making it a versatile addition to any wardrobe.
I genuinely loved the process of designing and creating this jacket, and winning a Blue Ribbon for it was the cherry on top! I often wear it and receive compliments every time. I believe you'll find joy in knitting this piece, as well — not only for its beauty but also for the satisfaction of wearing a garment you've made yourself. And if you’re feeling adventurous, I encourage you to enter it into your local fair's competition — GOOD LUCK!
As with all my knitting patterns, if you require any assistance or have questions while working on this project, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'm here to help every step of the way! Dive into this rewarding knitting experience and let your creativity shine with this stunning kimono jacket!
