Introducing the Marettimo Summer Sweater, a relaxed and lightweight knitting pattern perfect for warm-weather wear. This beautiful sweater is knit in the round from the bottom up and showcases an elegant feather and fan lace detail along the hem and sleeves, giving it a unique and stylish flair. The design features separate front and back sections worked flat at the armholes, along with thoughtfully placed short row shaping at the shoulders for a comfortable fit. Named after a charming small island off the coast of Sicily, Marettimo is the second design in my Italian-inspired collection (with Tegna being the first), each piece reflecting my dream of wearing them in picturesque Italian towns.

The finished garment measurements are provided to help you choose the perfect size for your project. The Marettimo sweater is designed to fit with 7-11” (18-28 cm) of positive ease at the bust, ensuring a relaxed and flattering silhouette. Additionally, the sleeves allow for 2-3” (5-7.5 cm) of positive ease at the upper arm for added comfort and ease of movement.

Yarn: This delightful sweater is crafted using Hedgehog Fibres Sock yarn, known for its vibrant colors and soft texture. A suitable yarn substitute can also be found below in the pattern details.

When selecting the right size for your Marettimo sweater, take a measurement around the largest part of your bust. To achieve the desired fit, opt for a size that is 7-11” larger than your bust measurement. For instance, if your bust measures 35”, I recommend knitting the size Medium (M), which provides 11.5” of positive ease for that trendy oversized look. For the sleeves, measure approximately 3" down from your armpit to determine your upper arm circumference, and choose a size that is 2-3" larger than this measurement.
