Marked Trail
If you’re in a hurry to craft some super comfy and warm socks, you’ve reached the right destination! These delightful knitted boot socks are made with bulky yarn, ensuring that you’ll only need a few hours before you can slide your feet into cozy warmth. Perfect for wearing indoors, these socks double as lovely winter slippers, keeping your feet toasty and stylish during the chilly months.
The Marked Trail socks are designed to be worked from the cuff down and feature a robust reinforced heel flap that provides both comfort and durability. With a simple yet striking colourwork pattern adorning the leg and toes, these socks are as visually appealing as they are functional. To assist you in achieving the perfect finish, colour dominance charts are included in all colourwork charts, catering to either a dark or light main colour for your convenience.
Yarn Requirements: For the Main Colour (MC), you will need 80-120 meters (88-131 yards) of bulky weight yarn. For the Contrasting Colour (CC), prepare 45-75 meters (49-82 yards) of bulky weight yarn. This ensures your socks will be vibrant and full of character!
For the sample yarn (size M), we recommend Ístex Álafosslopi, which is crafted from 100% pure new wool, with 100 meters (109 yards) per 100-gram ball. The MC in this example is a beautiful deep purple (col. 1241 gloxinia), and the CC is a bright and cheerful yellow (col. 9964 golden heather), with one ball needed for each colour.
