Discover the Mechita Hat Pattern - Dive into the world of creativity with this stunning hat design that showcases the exceptional Malabrigo Mechita yarn! As a passionate knitter, I constantly explore and experiment with new stitches. For this unique hat, I chose a stitch that transforms the yarn into graceful diamonds adorned with delicate bubbles, adding rich texture and captivating curiosity. The result is the lovely Mechita Hat that you'll not only enjoy knitting but will also adore wearing, especially with the fabulously bushy pompom created from the luxurious Malabrigo wool.

Yarn Requirements - This pattern calls for 250 yards of fingering weight yarn, specifically the Malabrigo Mechita Superwash Merino wool. With a generous length of 420 yards per 100 grams, it offers both quality and quantity you need for stunning results. The hat shown features the beautiful color 83 Water Green, which perfectly complements this delightful stitch pattern.

Needle Sizes - To create the Mechita Hat, you will need Size US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needles in a 16” (40cm) length. Additionally, you may opt for Size US 4 DPNs or a 31” (80cm) circular needle if you prefer the magic loop method for knitting in the round—choose what feels most comfortable for you!

Gauge Information - Achieving the perfect fit for your hat is vital. This pattern includes a gauge of 27 stitches and 34 rows in stocking stitch, using 3.5mm needles to measure 4 inches (10 cm). Make sure to check your gauge to ensure your Mechita Hat turns out just right!
