**Knitting Pattern for a Stylish Beret**

Sizes: Youth/Adult S (Adult M, Adult L) with Finished Measurements to Fit Head Circumference: 17-19 inches (20-22 inches, 22-24 inches) or 43-48 cm (50-56 cm, 56-61 cm). This versatile beret pattern allows you to knit your own unique piece with the option to create either a classic or a dramatic look. The dramatic beret style offers an oversized appearance with a larger diameter, perfect for making a bold fashion statement.

**Materials Needed**: For this pattern, you will need two types of yarn. We recommend using "Klippan Saule," which is a 100% wool yarn with 300 meters per 100 grams. Additionally, for a softer texture, you can use "Profil Kid Mohair," which includes 30% kid mohair, 40% acrylic, and 30% polyamide, offering 225 meters in a 25-gram skein. Both yarns are held together throughout the knitting process, but you can substitute them with a single yarn that falls within the DK to light worsted weight category.

To achieve the **classic look**, you'll need approximately 120 (129, 143) yards, or 110 (118, 130) meters of each yarn. For the **dramatic look**, you’ll need around 148 (155, 170) yards, or 135 (142, 155) meters of each. Please note that the exact yardage may differ based on your personal gauge or if you're using different yarns.

**Needles Required**: Use US size #6 (4 mm) double-pointed needles (DPNs) or a circular needle for the magic loop method, or select whatever tool is necessary to achieve the proper gauge. The expected gauge for this beret pattern is 20 stitches and 20 rounds per 4 inches (10 cm) in reverse stockinette, knitted in the round and after blocking.

**Additional Notions**: In addition to the yarn and needles, you’ll need a few extra tools, including stitch markers, a darning needle for weaving in ends, scrap yarn for holding stitches, and a crochet hook for making a provisional cast-on.

This knitting pattern empowers you to create a unique beret that suits your style, whether you opt for a classic elegance or a dramatic flair. Happy knitting!
