The Meridian Hat is not only easy to memorize but is also incredibly fun to knit! Featuring an addictive braid cable pattern that spans just four rows, you’ll find yourself unable to put it down. This stylish hat serves as the perfect accessory for the transitional seasons, such as fall and spring, making it ideal for those chilly evenings. Its compact design allows it to be a fantastic on-the-go project, utilizing just 230 yards of fingering weight yarn. The captivating cables on this hat beautifully complement the Meridian Shawl available on our website, creating a cohesive look for your knitted accessories!

YARN: You will need 230 yards (210 meters) or approximately 60 grams of fingering weight yarn, such as Shalimar Yarns Breathless used in the sample.

NEEDLES: For this project, use US size 2 and 4 needles (2.75 and 3.5 mm), with a 16” (40 cm) circular needle and US size 4 (3.5 mm) double-pointed needles for the finishing touches.

NOTIONS: Don’t forget essential knitting notions such as a tapestry needle, stitch markers, and a cable needle to assist you in crafting this beautiful hat.

GAUGE: Achieve a gauge of 30 stitches x 35 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch with the larger needle after blocking. Adjust your needle sizes as necessary to ensure you obtain the correct gauge for a perfect fit!
