Mini Dress Set for Dolls
Welcome to our delightful knitting pattern featuring a charming outfit that includes a dress, panties, hat, purse, and shoes for your favorite doll! This seamless dress boasts a stylish 5-button back opening, making it not only easy to knit but also adorable when completed. In addition, we've included simple knitting instructions for a lovely waist belt and a cute bow to add the finishing touches to the ensemble. The entire outfit is designed with an accessible slipped stitch technique, and using two contrasting colors elevates the aesthetic even further. This enjoyable project is perfect for knitters of all skill levels looking to create something special.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
- 4 PLY or Fingering weight yarn: For the Les Cheries and Heart for Heart dolls, I recommend using Patons Fairytale Dreamtime 4 ply, needing just one 50 gm skein for the dress, hat, and panties.
- Wendy Peterpan New Soft blend 4 ply: You'll need about 6 gm for the shoes, bag, and waist band.
- Cascade Cherub DK: A total of 45 gm is required for the Annabel Tweens (dress, panties, and hat). My tester also enjoyed using Knit Picks Stroll Brights for a vibrant two-tone dress, which calls for 36 gm of the main color and 17 gm of the contrast color for the dress, hat, panties, bag, and shoes.
- Knitting Needles: Use size 3.50 mm knitting needles for the skirt portion of the dress and the hat.
- Marking Tools: Two row markers will help keep your place as you knit.
- Needle Sizes: For 13” dolls, a size 3 mm knitting needle is ideal, while sizes 3.25 mm for Heart for Heart dolls and 3.50 mm for Little Sisters and Annabel Tweens work best.
- Tapestry Needle: Essential for finishing touches.
- Buttons: You will need 5 buttons for the dress and 2 buttons for the bag.
- Sew-on Snaps: A pair is required for closures.
