Nate's Beanie

Known for misplacing his hats, Nate asked me to recreate his favorite beanie, ensuring he’ll never be without one again – and he now loves this new version even more than the original!
This beanie features multiple cables intricately woven on a cozy reverse-stockinette background, elegantly twisting and twining together until they converge at the top of the crown, creating a striking star pattern that adds a unique flair. The pattern is meticulously crafted and is available in both written and charted formats for your convenience, catering to different knitting preferences. Available sizes include S (M, L), accommodating adult head circumferences of 19-23” (20-24”, 21-25”) and a comfy length of 8 - 8.25” to ensure a snug fit. For this cozy beanie, we recommend using 1 skein of Cascade 220 wool (with 220 yards per 100g, made from 100% Peruvian wool), or you can opt for any high-quality worsted weight wool or wool blend for a similar outcome. The samples showcased are crafted in Plymouth Encore Worsted in a lovely Tan shade and Cascade 220 in a chic Charcoal hue, demonstrating the versatility of this design.
To create this warm accessory, gather your tools: US 6 (4.25mm) 16” circular needles, US 7 (4.5mm) 16” circular needles, and double-pointed needles, or alternatively, select sizes to achieve your desired gauge along with one size smaller. Don’t forget a cable needle and a stitch marker to help you keep track of your work!
Your gauge should be 18 stitches and 26 rows per 4” in stockinette on the larger needles. This ensures your beanie will fit snugly and display the beautiful cable pattern as intended.
