Exciting news—my cousin is pregnant! In celebration of this wonderful occasion, I’ve been busy knitting several adorable items for her and her soon-to-arrive baby. But I wanted to create something special just for her as well. That's when I decided to design a beautiful matching beanie that she can wear proudly alongside her little one!

This stylish beanie features an appealing 1x1 rib pattern, which not only adds texture but also creates a cozy fit. The design incorporates a unique decrease technique that resembles delicate vines or branches, often described as "little crowns." I think this detail is simply perfect for adding a whimsical touch! To ensure the beanie stands out, the brim is knit in a contrasting color and then flipped back, creating a lovely visual effect.

This beanie pattern is easy to intermediate level, making it accessible for those who have some knitting experience. You’ll need to master a few fundamental techniques, including knit, purl, ssk (slip, slip, knit), k2tog (knit two together), and k3tog (knit three together). However, if you are a confident beginner, you can certainly take on this project with ease!

For an adult-sized beanie, gather 60 grams of your contrast color and 120 grams of your main color yarn. Keep in mind that achieving the correct gauge is important, so aim for 32 stitches by 32 rows in K1P1 rib for the best results.

As always, I would love to see your finished creations! Don’t forget to tag me at @wattleand.wool on Instagram to share your knitting journey with the community. Happy knitting, and enjoy creating this delightful beanie that celebrates both motherhood and new beginnings!
