New Cabled Family Socks
About The Design: I’ve reworked this classic knitting design using Peace Fleece, a yarn known for its unique blend of softness and warmth. I am absolutely thrilled with the new Peace Fleece merino wool blend. It is incredibly soft and cozy to knit with, ensuring that every stitch becomes a delightful experience. This malleable yarn not only feels great in your hands but also offers remarkable resilience, making it an excellent choice for various knitting projects. If you intend to wear these socks in boots, I highly recommend reinforcing the heels and toes with a sock reinforcement yarn, such as Fortissima Socka, available on cards, or Jawoll reinforcement, which can be found on spools. Alternatively, these socks are perfect for indoor wear, especially when paired with comfy slippers or slipper socks. Whether you're knitting for yourself or as a thoughtful gift, these socks will provide warmth and comfort.
Substitute Yarn Weight: Heavy Worsted (aran)
Gauge: 5.5 stitches and 8 rounds = 1” (2.5 cm) in Stockinette stitch using size 4 needles or the size needed to achieve gauge. To save time and ensure the best fit, please take a moment to check your gauge before starting your project.
Happy Knitting! Dawn
Alternative Yarns: If you're looking for alternatives to Peace Fleece, consider West Yorkshire Spinners Jacobs Aran or Plymouth Yarn Homestead. These yarns are also excellent choices for achieving a similar cozy and durable finish.
