New Fulled Family Booties
About the Design: Introducing a timeless classic: the Cozy Classic Slippers, crafted with double-stranded Peace Fleece yarn. Peace Fleece, made from a luxurious merino wool blend, not only felts more easily than the traditional Bartlettyarns 2-ply but also creates a delightful, cozy fabric that’s perfect for keeping your feet warm. You can work these slippers using any Peace Fleece heather or tweed colors, or combine two shades to create a stunning marled effect that adds a unique twist to your knitting project.
Note: While Peace Fleece is currently unavailable, I recommend substituting with Drops Alaska or Nepal yarns. I've personally knitted numerous pairs of socks with these fantastic yarns and absolutely adore how they feel and fit on my feet! Be sure to choose a NON-superwash wool yarn for this pattern, as superwash varieties won’t provide the desired felting and fulling properties needed for these cozy slippers!
This versatile pattern accommodates all family members, offering a total of 7 sizes, so you can craft a pair for everyone from kids to adults. For safety on slippery surfaces, consider adding slipper bottoms to enhance grip and prevent slips.
Gauge: Achieve the perfect fit with a gauge of 12 stitches and 16 rounds to equal 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch using size 11 needles and holding two strands of yarn together. Adjust your needle size as necessary to achieve the specified gauge. Keep in mind that Peace Fleece typically fulls to about 13 stitches and 19 rounds over 4”, so checking your gauge is essential to save time and ensure the perfect cozy fit!
Elevate your knitting projects with this engaging pattern today and enjoy the warmth and comfort of hand-knit slippers—all while honing your skills and crafting a cherished item for yourself or a loved one!
