Nodo infinito
Introducing the Nodo Infinito (Endless Knot) shawl, a stunning design inspired by the Shrivatsa, one of the Ashtamangala, or Eight Auspicious Signs in Tibetan Buddhism. The Shrivatsa symbolizes Samsara, which represents the endless cycle of suffering associated with birth, death, and rebirth. In my design process, I was fascinated by the striking resemblance between the endless knot and traditional Celtic knots, especially when interpreted through the art of knitting. The Nodo Infinito shawl features a unique “half donut” shape, worked sideways using short rows. This innovative construction creates a gentle curve, making the shawl incredibly easy to wear, as it comfortably stays in place on your shoulder. The intricate closed-ring cabled border is beautifully incorporated with the body of the shawl, resulting in a piece that is as functional as it is visually captivating. While this shawl requires some complex maneuvers and a bit of your attention, the effort is well worth it. The end result is a jewel-like masterpiece that showcases both your knitting skills and your appreciation for meaningful symbols in design. Whether you're looking for a breathtaking accessory for yourself or a unique gift for a fellow knitting enthusiast, the Nodo Infinito shawl pattern is sure to inspire creativity and delight. Explore the beauty and intricate craftsmanship of this shawl while adding a meaningful piece to your knitting repertoire!
