Noodle
Dancing Dog Dye Works ~ Monster Mania Club November 2012
Welcome to the delightful world of knitting with our knit-in-the-round Noodle pattern designed by Dancing Dog Dye Works! This charming amigurumi-style monster is both fun and easy to create, as his body and head are knitted as a single piece from the bottom up—eliminating the hassle of seams. You will stuff the monster as you go, closing at the top of his head for a cute finish. The ears, limbs, and tail are also crafted in the round, creating a cohesive and adorable creature that’s perfect for all ages!
Our sample made with Dancing Dog Dye Works yarn (in dark purple) used approximately 133 yards, resulting in a cuddly monster standing at 9 inches tall. Alternatively, a light purple sample made using Knit Picks Wool of the Andes used about 152 yards and reached 9.5 inches in height, showcasing the versatility and charm of this knitting project.
This pattern is designed with worsted weight yarn; however, feel free to use any yarn weight that you prefer! Just remember to adjust your needles accordingly for optimal results. It's important to achieve a tight fabric when knitting toys so that the polyfil stuffing doesn’t poke through. To ensure this, we recommend going down 1 to 2 needle sizes from the smallest size suggested on your yarn’s label. For instance, I often use a US size 5 or 6 for worsted weight yarn, US size 2 or 3 for DK yarn, and US size 0 or 1 for fingering weight yarn.
This adorable Noodle monster showcases a variety of knitting techniques, including knitting in the round and k2tog (knit two stitches together for decreasing). Perfect for knitters of all skill levels looking for an engaging project!
