About the Design: This beautifully crafted children’s v-neck sweater knitting pattern is suitable for little ones ranging from size 2 to size 12, featuring 6 sizes in both traditional and non-traditional colorways. To help you bring your vision to life, we’ve included a selection of alternate colorway charts to inspire your creativity. The sweater is knit from the bottom up in one seamless piece to the armholes, ensuring ease of construction and minimal finishing work. After forming the v-neck fronts and the back, the pieces are knit together and the sleeve stitches are picked up to be knit down to the cuffs. The final touch is the button band, which is knit around the front edge for added charm. The only seams present are at the shoulders; however, if you prefer a truly seamless finish, you can easily work a 3-needle bind-off (BO) to eliminate shoulder seams altogether!
Gauge: Achieve a consistent gauge of 20 stitches and 26 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette stitch (St st); and 20 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches over pattern using size 8 needles for best results.
Size 6 Sample Yarn Requirements: For the sample knit in Lamb’s Pride Worsted, you will need 3 skeins for sizes 2, 4, and 6, and 4 skeins for sizes 8, 10, and 12 in color 01 M01 Sandy Heather, along with 1 skein of M178 Warm Caramel, and 1 skein of M183 Rosado Rose.
Size 10 Sample Yarn Requirements: The Drops Nepal sample utilizes yarn as follows: 4 skeins for sizes 2, 4, and 6, 5 skeins for size 8, and 6-8 skeins for sizes 10 and 12 in color 1101 White; followed by 1 skein of 0501 Grey Mix for sizes 2 and 4, and up to 2 skeins for sizes 6-12; plus 1 skein of 6790 Royal Blue for sizes 2 through 6 and 2 skeins for sizes 8-12.
Substitute Yarn Weight: This pattern is designed for worsted to heavy worsted weight yarn.
