Nordlys
Inspired by the breathtaking colors of the Aurora Borealis, or Nordlys as it's affectionately called in Norway, this stunning design seamlessly transforms from an infinity scarf into an elegant shrug. Delicate beads add a charming touch of twinkle and sophistication. The Nordlys pattern is worked flat as a beautiful rectangle, with the short ends stitched together to create the final piece.
Materials Needed: To create the Nordlys, you will need Schoppel Zauberball (4ply; 75% Superwash Wool/25% Nylon; 420m/459yds per 100g) in two skeins. This exquisite yarn is shown in shade: 2308 Smoking Area. You will also require 4mm (UK 8/US 6) knitting needles and Debbie Abrahams Seed Beads size 6, in color 340 Pebble, with a recommended quantity of 784 (which equals 2 bags). Additionally, you'll need a 0.75mm (US 14) crochet hook for the bead application process.
Difficulty Level: This pattern is designed for Easy to Intermediate knitters, making it accessible to a variety of skills while still offering a satisfying challenge.
Size Specifications: When completed, the Nordlys measures a generous length of 182cm/71½in and a width of 51cm/20in, perfect for draping around the shoulders or wearing as an infinity scarf.
Tension Guidelines: Achieve 21 sts and 22 rows over 10cm/4in in Chart A after blocking. While exact tension may not be essential, variations could influence the final size and the amount of yarn required for your project.
