Norolim

$6.23

Fans of The Lord of the Rings will instantly recognize the inspiration behind the sock name, Norolim. In the films, when trying to escape from the Nazgul, Arwen passionately commands her horse, "Noro lim, Asfaloth! Noro lim!" This evocative phrase inspired me to choose it for these unique socks, which I first knitted using vibrant Noro Kureyon yarn.

Skill Level: Intermediate. These beautiful socks are knitted from the cuff down, making them both elegant and enjoyable to work on.

Materials Needed: You will require a 100g skein of fingering weight yarn and double-pointed needles (DPNs) or circular needles in sizes 2mm and 2.25mm for this project. Be sure to choose a yarn that not only drapes beautifully but also showcases the intricate lace patterns.

Size Options: The size of the socks can be easily adapted by selecting smaller or larger needle sizes for a snugger or looser fit. Furthermore, the length of both the cuff and foot can be adjusted to meet your preferences. Simply knit fewer repeats for a smaller size or more repeats for a larger fit. If you wish to customize the heel, you can knit a shorter heel flap to accommodate a lower instep or extend it for a higher instep, ensuring maximum comfort.

Instructions: The pattern includes two detailed charts for the lace sections, providing visual guidance to help you create stunning lace motifs that will surely impress. Whether you’re making them for yourself or as a thoughtful gift, these Norolim socks will add a touch of Middle-earth magic to your knitting collection. Dive into the adventure today and unleash your creativity with this delightful knitting pattern!
