Size Information
This delightful hat boasts a 17 ¼ inch circumference at the brim and stands at 7 ¾ inches tall from brim to crown, making it a comfortably stylish accessory for anyone.

Recommended Needles
To create the Northdale Hat, you'll need the following knitting needles:
- US 4/3.5mm 16-inch circular needle
- US 6/4mm 16-inch circular needle
- US 6/4mm set of double-pointed needles (dpns) or a long circular needle if you prefer the magic loop method for ease of knitting.

Yarn Requirements
This hat calls for DK weight yarn in the following amounts:
- 80 yards of Main Color (MC), - 65 yards of Contrast Color 1 (CC1), and - 35 yards of Contrast Color 2 (CC2). Please note that additional yardage of CC1 is required if you decide to make a matching pom pom.
The example shown is crafted using Jamieson’s Double Knitting, made from 100% Shetland wool (approximately 82 yards per 25g), in the colors Mooskit (MC), Atlantic (CC1), and Titanic (CC2).

Essential Notions
For this project, you'll need some essential tools: - Stitch markers to keep track of your progress
- A tapestry needle for weaving in those pesky ends once you're done knitting.

Gauge Information
Getting the right gauge is crucial for achieving the perfect fit. For this pattern, you should obtain the following gauge:
- 25 stitches and 32 rounds = 4 inches in the Ribbing pattern for the brim when using the US 4/3.5mm needle, and
- 26 stitches and 32 rounds = 4 inches in the Fair Isle pattern when using the US 6/4mm needle.
