Yarn: Rowan Softknit Cotton (92% cotton, 8% polyamide; 50 g per skein, total length of 105 m). For this sample, we used Marina 580. Required yarn amounts: Shawl: 6 skeins (588 m); Cowl: 2 skeins (202 m).

Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows in stockinette stitch measures 10 cm square.

Notes: Both the shawl and cowl are knitted flat. You can easily customize the width of the shawl and the circumference of the cowl by adding or removing pattern repeats of 9 stitches. The first four buttonholes are created on the right side, while the last four are worked on the wrong side, both utilizing the same one-row technique for consistency. The cowl is sewn together for a seamless finish, but feel free to incorporate buttonhole rows if you prefer a more adjustable design. You can also work the selvedge stitch as on the shawl for a cohesive look.
