Numberblocks: Three!
Welcome to my epic Numberblocks series, where creativity meets fun knitting adventures! And here I am, introducing the delightful cuddly Three—this is the third pattern in my beloved collection. Following the creation of One and Two, I invite you to join me on my adventurous quest to fill Numberland with charming and cuddly characters!
This adorable Three is designed to be knit in the round using 4.25/4.5 mm double-pointed needles (dpns) and Aran weight yarn. Don't worry if you don't have Aran weight yarn available—gauge isn't crucial for this project, so feel free to substitute with a lighter weight yarn if you're aiming for a smaller size in your Numberblocks. The body of Three is worked seamlessly in one piece, while the facial features and buttons are added using duplicate stitch before diving into the decrease rounds (a handy chart is provided for your convenience). The limbs—arms and legs—are knit separately and attached at the end for a polished finish.
For my version of Three, I used about 70g of vibrant bright yellow yarn for the body, along with small amounts of red, orange, black, and white yarn scraps for the arms, legs, and facial features. You will also need some stuffing to give your Numberblocks the perfect cuddle factor, a tapestry needle for embroidery touches, and stitch markers, which can be incredibly useful for keeping track of your stitches throughout. Although stitch markers aren't strictly essential, they certainly make the process smoother!
Skills required for this delightful pattern include: casting on and joining in the round, knitting, purling, kfb (knit front and back), m1r (make one right), m1l (make one left), ssk (slip, slip knit), k2tog (knit two together), three needle bind off, and duplicate stitch. Embark on this knitting journey to make your own cuddly Three and bring joy to your creative space!
Happy knitting, and don’t forget to share your finished creations! Your knitted Numberblocks can add warmth and happiness to any home.
