Yarn Requirements:
To knit the Numida Mitts, you'll need approximately 160 (200, 240) yards / 146 (183, 219) meters of main color (MC) fingering weight yarn. You'll also need around 36 (45, 55) yards / 33 (41, 50) meters of contrasting color (CC) fingering weight yarn. We recommend using The Lamb & Kid Kiddo, which features a luxurious blend of 85% merino wool superwash and 15% nylon, with 220 yards (201 meters) per 50 grams. For our sample, we used 1 skein of colorway Concrete for the main color and 1 skein of colorway Downy for the contrasting feathers in size 7.25” / 18 cm.
Gauge Information:
Achieve a gauge of 28 stitches and 38 rounds per 4” (10 cm) in stockinette stitch with the larger needle to ensure a perfect fit for your Numida Mitts.
Essential Tools:
To complete your project, you’ll need the following tools: Size 4 (3.5 mm) 9” (23 cm) circular needle (or the size needed to meet gauge), Size 3 (3.25 mm) 9” (23 cm) circular needle (one size smaller than the gauge needle), three stitch markers, a stitch holder or waste yarn, a tapestry needle, scissors, and a measuring tape. Having these tools on hand will make your knitting experience smooth and enjoyable.
