This unique garment is knit from the top down, beginning with a provisional cast on for each of the back shoulders, allowing for a seamless look. The front and back shoulder sections are expertly worked flat, while the body of the top is crafted in the round for a smooth finish. Short rows are employed to enhance the geometric features of this modern design, adding an artistic touch. The body length from the underarm measures 30 cm (12 inches), but if you wish to lengthen your top, you will need approximately 5% more yarn for each additional inch of length.

The sleeve openings can be finished with a minimal trim, as illustrated, or opt for a longer ribbed cuff for a more traditional finish. This pattern is perfect for knitters looking to create a stylish piece that can be worn year-round.

For the sample, we used 2 strands of lightweight yarn (ITO Kinu and ITO Sershin) in two contrasting colors, which results in a beautiful marled effect that adds depth and character to the design. However, if you prefer a simpler look, this top can also be knit using one strand of DK or sport weight yarn. This flexibility makes it suitable for a variety of yarn choices and allows you to express your creativity.
