Oxford
I picked up this beautiful single skein of Ancient Arts Yarn many moons ago at a vibrant fiber festival in Olds, AB. Attending such an event for the first time was an exhilarating experience! The thrill of exploring booths filled with talented vendors was palpable. However, to be honest, I found myself overwhelmed by the plethora of options, which sent my introverted and anxious brain into a bit of overload!
The West Coast Waterfall colorway of the yarn I selected was so uniquely beautiful that I knew I couldn't pair it with another colorway. It was just too stunning on its own! To showcase its splendor while also allowing for versatility, it became essential to create a design that would work beautifully with both a single skein and a variegated yarn. The Oxford shawl pattern, featuring larger eyelets, is the perfect solution. This design breaks up the busy colors in the yarn while still allowing the inherent gorgeousness to shine through!
The Oxford shawl is a dignified, triangular-shaped accessory that can be made using one to three skeins of yarn. This stunning shawl is worked on the bias, providing a unique drape and flow to your finished piece. With lace sections interspersed with garter stitch, the pattern offers a delightful balance that keeps your knitting engaging and never tedious. Whether you're a seasoned knitter or a beginner looking to explore new techniques, the Oxford shawl is a perfect choice for showcasing your favorite yarns while creating a stunning and wearable masterpiece.
