Paletta Shawl

$4.50

Paletta Shawl is a stunning crescent-shaped shawl that combines intricate lace Honeycomb stitches with smooth Stockinette stitches, accented by a charming chain-like ridge. This elegant accessory features a delicate and airy lace border, making it a perfect addition to any wardrobe. Worked in one piece from the top down, the Paletta Shawl is not only beautiful but also provides a satisfying knitting experience for crafters of all skill levels.

Size: After blocking, the finished shawl measures approximately 69.3” wingspan (176 cm) and 19.7” depth (50 cm). Please note that the final dimensions may vary depending on your chosen yarn, needle size, personal gauge, and the number of times the pattern is repeated, allowing for some customization in your project.

Materials and Tools:

Yarn: We recommend using Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend Fino, which is a luxurious blend of 70% Merino wool and 30% Silk (490 yards / 448 meters per 100 grams). The Corsage colourway (401) adds a beautiful touch to your shawl, but any heavy lace, light fingering, or fingering weight yarn will work wonderfully as well. You will need a total yardage of approximately 492 to 656 yards (500 to 700 meters) for this project.

Needles: For the best results, use US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needles in a 32” (80 cm) or 40” (100 cm) length. This allows for easy handling of the project as it grows.

Knitting Skills Required: To successfully complete the Paletta Shawl, you should possess basic knitting skills. Familiarity with techniques such as kfb (knit front and back), K2tog (knit two together), skp (slip, knit, pass), as well as slipping stitches knitwise and purlwise, and knowing when to use yarn in front (wyif) or yarn in back (wyib) is essential. These stitches will help you create the beautiful texture and design of this shawl.
