Par for the Course baby blanket

This delightful knitting pattern is a must-try for golf enthusiasts and knitters alike! Suggested by a popular yarn shop that caters to customers who love golf, this whimsical design features an argyle stitch border, a charming golf cart, and three vibrant greens. At the heart of this project is the word "GOLF," creatively designed with the "O" represented as a golf ball and the "L" cleverly designed as a golf club. This unique combination makes it a perfect gift for any golf lover!

For this project, I used 3.5 skeins of Ultimate Pima yarn, which is a soft DK weight cotton, offering 220 yards per skein. Before washing and machine drying, the dimensions of the blanket were 28” x 31”. It’s worth noting that most cotton yarns tend to 'settle' and soften after being machine dried, enhancing the overall texture of your finished piece. If you're aiming for a rectangular blanket, consider adding an additional repeat of the side argyle pattern before working the top borders. Alternatively, you could increase the stockinette rows both before and after the central design element for a more elongated shape.

This knitting pattern is ideal for knitters of all skill levels and provides a fun way to celebrate your love for golf. Get started on this charming project and create a stunning piece that is not only functional but also a conversation starter on the course or at home!
