Peetri

$6.93

The Peetri pattern is the second captivating design in our exclusive collection inspired by the rich heritage of Estonian national costumes. Drawing inspiration from a beautifully woven belt pattern that was collected in 1912 from Müüsleri village in Peetri parish, this blanket pattern showcases a unique blend of tradition and creativity. Following the success of the first pattern in the series, the Urvaste blanket, the Peetri pattern offers endless possibilities for knitters of all skill levels.

This gorgeous blanket is crafted in one continuous piece using a delightful mosaic garter stitch. One of the standout features of this pattern is its versatility; the size is easily adjustable by simply incorporating more or fewer repeats of the pattern. For those looking for smaller projects, the Peetri pattern is perfect for creating a stylish cushion cover or an adorable doll blanket. If you prefer a medium size, it transforms beautifully into a cozy baby blanket or a comforting lapghan.

While directions are primarily provided for a square blanket, the design can also be effortlessly adapted into a rectangular shape by increasing the number of repeats, allowing for even more creativity in your knitting journey. To enhance usability, we provide the charts in reversed colors (check page 5), making it easy to switch between light and dark colors as you design your unique blanket.

The sample for the Peetri blanket was made using an Aran / 10 ply weight acrylic yarn, which offers a warm and soft finish. However, feel free to experiment with different yarn weights and fibers. Remember, the choice of yarn will affect both the size of your finished blanket and the total amount of yarn required, so choose according to your preferences and project needs.

This Peetri pattern not only brings a touch of Estonian heritage to your knitting projects but also allows you to showcase your personal style. Dive into the world of traditional craftsmanship with this beautiful knitting pattern, and let your creativity shine as you create a stunning piece for your home or as a thoughtful gift.
