Penny Mac Socks
Hydrangeas are one of my favourite summer flowers, and my passion for them is inspired by my Granny, who had a stunning hydrangea in her garden. Every summer, it flourished with stunning, great big blousy blue mops of flowers. Ever since, I have been eager to incorporate this beautiful plant into my own garden, particularly the “Penny Mac” variety of hydrangeas.
Last summer (2021) proved to be one of the hottest summers in many years, providing the perfect backdrop as I sat knitting these charming socks in my garden. With a pure, vibrant blue sky above and the gorgeous blue hydrangeas surrounding me, I instantly knew that I had to name this delightful design the “Penny Mac Socks.” This pattern pays homage to the beauty of the hydrangea and is perfect for summer knitting projects.
