You might be surprised to learn that this project isn't solely for expert knitters—it's accessible and enjoyable for all skill levels! Persian Dreams is crafted with a series of charming, individually knitted hexagons, each worked in the round, starting from the center and radiating outward. The most challenging aspect is the seamless circular cast-on for the hexagons. Beyond that, the colorwork is presented right-side-out, making it much easier to follow the engaging patterns compared to traditional back-and-forth knitting. Each hexagon is compact and portable, perfect for taking on-the-go. Once you've completed some or all of the hexagons (customization is completely up to you!), you can begin to beautifully graft them together or use your preferred seaming method. Many knitters have successfully learned stranded colorwork while creating the original Persian Dreams in fine yarn, and this worsted version enhances visibility, making it even faster and more fun!
The inspiration behind Persian Dreams originated from the desire to create a magnificent, epic blanket filled with colorwork. Rather than conforming to lengthy rows and limited striping options, I woke up one morning with a spark of inspiration for hexagon-based designs. This form allows for easy construction and a wonderful distribution of color throughout the blanket.
