With no other knitwear in my collection suitable for the festival's mild temperatures, I decided to create this airy top using the exquisite Dance Rustic Silk yarn. Its name, "Photo Finish," reflects the speedy process of bringing this design to life; I cast on Tuesday morning and bound off by Thursday night, proving that stunning knitwear can be achieved in a flash!
Finished Size:
Chest measurements: 32[36, 40, 44, 48, 52] inches. Length from cast on to underarm: 13[13.5, 14, 14, 14.5, 15] inches.
Yarn: This pattern is designed for Dragonfly Fibers Dance Rustic Silk, which is made from 100% silk noil and offers 450 yards per 4 oz skein. Knitters will need 2[2, 2, 2, 3, 3] skeins for this project. For the sample shown, I used the size 44” dimensions, requiring a total of 800 yards in the stunning Kelpie colorway.
Needles: For this garment, you’ll need US #5/3.75mm circular needles, preferably a 32-inch length or longer. Larger sizes may find a longer needle more comfortable. You'll also need the same size double-pointed needles or any preferred method for knitting small circumferences in the round. Always choose your tools based on your personal knitting preferences to ensure the best results!
Gauge: Achieve a gauge of 20 stitches and 29 rows per 4 inches when knitting in stockinette stitch. Proper gauge is essential to ensure the perfect fit and drape of your finished sweater.
