Playford Hat
The Playford Hat, inspired by the renowned music publisher and bookseller John Playford, is a beautifully designed knit accessory that features a delicate all-over cable pattern. This pattern mimics the twining lines, hearts, and intricate flourishes found on a Baroque violin, making it a perfect blend of artistry and functionality. As part of the exclusive Twisted Strings collection, which includes five unique accessory patterns influenced by the decorative tracery on Baroque string instruments, the Playford Hat is a must-have for knitting enthusiasts.
Throughout this project, you’ll develop essential skills and techniques including knitting in the round and mastering 1-over-1 cables. For your convenience, the pattern provides instructions for my favorite twist method, allowing you to complete the cables effortlessly—cable needle not required! Whether you're an experienced knitter or an ambitious beginner, this pattern offers a delightful challenge.
