Inspired by my Dad’s tradition of bringing home pomegranates every Autumn, I decided to create a beautiful pair of socks that capture the essence of this season. While I may not have loved the taste of pomegranates, their vibrant appearance has always captivated me. These pomegranate seed-themed socks are designed to be thicker and snug, providing added warmth for the chilly Autumn and Winter months.
Crafted from a sport-weight yarn, these socks are not only warm but also quick to knit, making them an excellent project for both beginners and experienced knitters looking for a fun and engaging challenge. The use of Regia 6-ply (6-fädig) Sport Weight sock yarn ensures a comfortable fit and durability, so you can enjoy wearing your pomegranate socks for many seasons to come.
Yarn Requirements: To create these delightful pomegranate socks, you will need Regia 6-ply (6-fädig) Sport Weight sock yarn. The quantities required are as follows: Main Color (MC): 175 (192) meters/190 (210) yards; Contrast Color 1 (CC1): 125 (132) meters/137 (145) yards; Contrast Color 2 (CC2): 25 (26) meters/27 (28) yards. Feel free to substitute with any suitable sport weight yarn that complements your palette.
Needles: For knitting these cozy socks, a set of four 3mm (US 2.5) Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) is recommended.
Other Materials: You will also need a stitch marker and a tapestry or yarn needle to finish your project neatly.
Tension/Gauge: Achieve the perfect fit by maintaining a tension/gauge of 30 stitches and 32 rounds, which measures 10 cm x 10 cm/4 in x 4 in over the stranded colorwork pattern. This detail is crucial for ensuring your socks fit snugly and comfortably.
