Introducing our elegant lace and bead socks, inspired by a memorable moment watching someone defend their thesis for their PhD. In this formal yet creative setting, my imagination took flight, leading to the design of these unique socks, which I sketched during a break on some scrap paper. These top-down socks feature a beautiful lace pattern and delicate beads along the leg, adding a touch of sophistication to your knitting projects.
The innovative ribbing detail on the foot not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also ensures a perfect fit for your feet. Our pattern is designed for a gauge of 9 stitches per inch and 11 rows per inch, making it ideal for knitters looking to create comfortable, well-fitting socks.
This knitting pattern offers two sizes: S/M and M/L. The leg pattern is slightly modified for the M/L size to accommodate the larger dimensions while maintaining the overall visual integrity of the design. The sample shown was created in size S/M, showcasing the intricate details that make these socks truly special.
Here's what you'll need to get started: • 2.5 mm (US 1.5) double-pointed or circular needles • 420 meters (460 yards) of quality sock yarn • A cable needle for the lace sections • A tapestry needle for weaving in ends • 10 grams of size 6/0 beads for that added bling • Optional: Stitch markers to help keep track of your progress.
The sample was knit using Regia 4-fädig yarn (420 meters / 460 yards per 100 grams) in the stunning color 1991. This particular sample features a 9” foot in size S/M and used 69 grams (approximately 290 meters / 317 yards) of yarn. The beads incorporated are a size 6, adding an elegant finishing touch.
