In my personal project, I crafted a stunning black and white version of the Proof Cardigan in size 5, accompanied by a generous 40 cm (15.75”) of positive ease for that trendy oversized look. The result is a cozy, comfortable cardigan that’s not only versatile but also a statement piece for any wardrobe. The blue hat you see in the photos is my original design, the "Lottchen," complemented beautifully by the "Mia Mia" scarf, both available through our pattern collection.

To get started, you will need the following tools and materials: 8 stitch markers, 5-9 buttons (with a diameter of your choice), circular knitting needles in sizes 4.5mm and/or 5mm (equivalent to US sizes 6 and 8), scissors, and a tapestry needle for finishing touches.
For the yarn, I have creatively combined two different types: a DK weight yarn as the main material, along with a strand of lace or light fingering yarn for added texture and depth. I've meticulously calculated the cardigan's circumference for two different gauge options, enabling you to select yarns based on your preferences or availability.
As for the yarn quantities required for the Proof Cardigan, please refer to the following guidelines: you will need approximately 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, or up to 1600 meters (or 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1500, to 1700 yards), depending on the size you choose to knit. This ensures that you have the right amount of yarn to create a beautiful, fully-finished product.
