Pull Toque
Introducing our unique and cozy earflap toque pattern, designed specifically for those who want to keep their ears warm during the chilly winter months. This pattern features short earflaps that do not require short rows, making the knitting process simpler and more enjoyable. The vibrant yellow stripes are created using a technique of "two rounds in contrast color," adding a fun and eye-catching element to your project. It's a straightforward design that is both effective and stylish!
Inspired by my personal need for warmth and functionality, I developed this toque pattern to cover the whole ear. Plus, I have a mild aversion to short rows, which often complicate knitting. As a result, I began experimenting with alternative methods to create a dip in stockinette stitch and this pattern was born!
For this project, you will need 1 (1, 2) balls of the main color yarn, complemented by about 8 yards of your chosen contrast color. This pattern is the perfect opportunity to use up those scraps of favorite multicolor yarn, or any odd half balls you have lying around that you've been meaning to put to good use!
Additionally, for those who might not have caught the pun, “pull” refers to the common practice of tugging on a toque for a snug fit beside the ears. In my own winter experience, I've often wished that the tips of my toque could stay pulled down for more than just a fleeting moment. Thankfully, this toque design ensures that the pulled-out tips stay in place, providing both comfort and warmth when you need it most!
Whether you're an experienced knitter or just starting out, this earflap toque pattern will quickly become your go-to project for winter gear. Try it out today and enjoy the fusion of warmth, style, and practicality!
