Pumpkin Scrappy Socks
Introducing a charming pair of socks designed specifically for my mum, who has a fondness for pumpkins and geometric patterns. This unique design merges these delightful elements into a cozy accessory that is both playful and stylish!
Materials Needed
For this project, you will require Garnstudio Drops Lima yarn, which features delightful blend of fibers: 50 g/1.76 oz and 92 m/101 yd in each ball. You will need:
- 2 balls of DK yarn in color 0707 Rust (Main Color - MC)
- 1 ball of DK yarn in color 2923 Ochre (Contrast Color 1 - CC1)
- 1 ball of DK yarn in color 4377 Dark Purple (Contrast Color 2 - CC2)
Necessary Tools
For knitting these fabulous socks, you will need a 3.5 mm [US 4] 80 cm [32”] circular needle or longer. Be sure to adjust the needle size if necessary to achieve the correct gauge. You may also want a stitch marker to help indicate the beginning of the round, along with a tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
Gauge
To ensure perfect fit and comfort, aim for a gauge of 23 stitches and 28 rounds = 10 cm [4”] in Stockinette stitch.
Pattern Notes
This sock pattern is worked from toe-up using the magic loop technique, offering both flexibility and fun as you knit. While I have opted for a short rows heel, feel free to substitute with your preferred heel technique. If you choose to knit two socks at the same time, you can do so by knitting one heel at a time for a consistent outcome.
This delightful pumpkin and geometric sock design not only brings warmth to your feet but also serves as a thoughtful gift for the special people in your life. Perfect for knitting enthusiasts of all skill levels, these socks are sure to become a treasured addition to anyone's wardrobe. Happy knitting!
