Put Your Right Foot In Socks
These beautifully crafted socks are reminiscent of the ones we cherished while hiking or skiing in the breathtaking European Alps. I meticulously combined a traditional cable pattern with plush half brioche stitch sections, resulting in a delightful pair of socks that feature a distinct left and right design. This thoughtful construction ensures they mold perfectly to the shape of your leg and foot, providing a snug fit that won’t slide down—making them truly a pleasure to wear for any outdoor adventure or cozy evening at home.
This versatile pattern is available in three sizes to accommodate various foot dimensions:
- Average child’s foot circumference (approximately 16 cm or 6 1/2 inches)
- Average women’s foot circumference (approximately 20 cm or 8 inches)
- Average men’s foot circumference (approximately 24 cm or 9 1/2 inches)
For added convenience, the foot length is fully adjustable across all sizes, allowing for a customized fit that suits individual preferences.
To create your own pair of these cozy socks, you will need up to 100 grams of Fingering Weight (4 Ply) sock yarn. For example, I used the delightful Austermann Step Classic in Kirsch (color 1005), which offers excellent durability and warmth.
When it comes to knitting tools, you will require a set of five Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) in 2.5 mm or US size 1.5, along with a cable needle and a darning needle for finishing touches.
The tension or gauge for this pattern is 30 stitches and 42 rounds to create a 10 cm or 4-inch square, ensuring your socks have the perfect fit and texture.
