When it comes to the Range knitting pattern, I understand that many knitters might hesitate to start without clear measurements. Since the choice of yarn can greatly influence the final size, I initially opted not to provide specific dimensions. The way the piece drapes and stretches due to gravity can create variations in size, making it a non-constant feature. However, based on feedback from our community, I’ve decided to share the measurements for the larger sample (the one featured on the front or page 1 of the pattern). These measurements were taken with a flexible tape measure while the piece was laid flat, and they are approximations, especially considering that the increase edges can curve slightly.

Here are the specific measurements for the larger piece:
- From the bound-off edge of Side 1 to the bound-off edge of Side 2: 45 inches
- Side 1 dimensions: 60 inches (length) x 44 inches (width) x 27 inches (height)
- Side 2 dimensions: 60 inches (length) x 37 inches (width) x 31 inches (height)

As a general rule of thumb, I suggest not to knit it wider than your height. If you are less than 60 inches tall, you might consider stopping your knitting at an earlier point to ensure a more appropriate fit. To better understand how wide your piece is becoming, even while on the needles, you can calculate your gauge, count the stitches, and do the necessary math. However, please keep in mind that I can’t guarantee identical results if you choose a different yarn than the one used in the sample.

For those embarking on this exciting knitting project, remember that the Range pattern offers a unique opportunity to personalize your piece. Feel empowered to adjust the width and dimensions based on your own preferences or body size. By doing so, you can create a bespoke garment that perfectly suits your style. Happy knitting!
