Finished Measurements:
20” / 50 cm circumference (comfortably fits up to a 24” head) ; 9” / 23 cm tall
Yarn: For this project, use sport weight yarn, ideally at least partially composed of wool to allow for effective blocking. For our sample, we utilized Vessel Yarn Co’s Forest colorway on their Create base, which not only provides great texture but also a stunning visual appeal!
Needles: You will need US size 5 / 3.75 mm 16” circular needles, along with US size 5 / 3.75 mm double-pointed needles (DPNs) or a magic loop method to facilitate the crown decreases effectively.
Gauge: To achieve the desired fit and appearance, be sure to maintain a gauge of 20 stitches x 22 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch.
Additional Materials: Don't forget to gather a few essential tools for your knitting journey, including a cable needle for creating those stunning cable twists, a tapestry needle for weaving in ends, scissors for trimming your yarn, and one beginning of round stitch marker. Additional stitch markers can also be helpful for keeping track of pattern repeats, though they’re optional.
