Retro cables
Welcome to our exclusive Tripping Yarn
Balls Yarn Club pattern. This unique sock pattern will be
available for general release in
October 2015, offering knitting enthusiasts an exciting new project.
With endless possibilities, these stylish socks combine simple 2/2 cables and sections of ribbing to create a cozy accessory. Knit in one color, they provide a quick, satisfying experience with just enough intricate detail to keep knitters engaged. If you’re passionate about color work, enhance the design by pairing a solid color with a variegated or self-striping yarn to create a stunning visual effect.
Pattern Flexibility and Customization
This sock pattern is highly customizable, allowing you to express your creativity. The unique cables form an appealing V-shaped pattern that gracefully runs down the leg of the sock.
- When opting for a single color, feel free to substitute simple ribbing (without cables) or stockinette stitch on the back of the leg for a quicker knit with added comfort and stretch.
- If you choose to work with two colors, we strongly recommend keeping the cables on the front of the sock only, while using ribbing on the back. This approach will ensure sufficient stretch since stranded cables can pull the fabric in tighter.
The accompanying pattern photos beautifully showcase both plain and color work options, allowing you to visualize your finished project.
