The sample pair was knit using a contrasting heel and toe from West Yorkshire Spinners 4 ply; however, using a contrasting color is completely optional with this pattern. (In my case, my husband loves tall socks, and I wanted to ensure I had enough yarn to complete the design without having to compromise halfway through!)
Needles: You'll need US1/2.25mm 40” (100cm) circular needles for the magic loop method or double-pointed needles (DPNs). Alternatively, feel free to use needles that will help you achieve the stated gauge.
Sizes: The pattern includes sizes for 7” (18cm), 8” (20cm), and 9” (23cm), with 0.5”/1cm negative ease to ensure a comfortable fit.
Gauge: To achieve the best results, aim for a gauge of 8 stitches and 13 rows per 1” (2.5cm).
