Ridged For Your Pleasure Socks

$3.67

Looking for a versatile and easily adaptable sock pattern? This delightful sock design is perfect for any size you typically knit, making it ideal for beginners and seasoned knitters alike! The primary goal of this pattern is to showcase the stunning variegated yarns that we all adore but often struggle to utilize effectively. (And yes, let your imagination wander with all the cheeky double entendres that come to mind!)

Materials: You will need 1 skein of ONline Supersocke 4-fach Neon Color, which is composed of 75% Wool and 25% Nylon, or any other lovely variegated sock yarn, with a minimum yardage of 400 meters. The sample pair was knit using a contrasting heel and toe from West Yorkshire Spinners 4 ply; however, using a contrasting color is completely optional with this pattern. (In my case, my husband loves tall socks, and I wanted to ensure I had enough yarn to complete the design without having to compromise halfway through!)

Needles: You'll need US1/2.25mm 40” (100cm) circular needles for the magic loop method or double-pointed needles (DPNs). Alternatively, feel free to use needles that will help you achieve the stated gauge.

Sizes: The pattern includes sizes for 7” (18cm), 8” (20cm), and 9” (23cm), with 0.5”/1cm negative ease to ensure a comfortable fit.

Gauge: To achieve the best results, aim for a gauge of 8 stitches and 13 rows per 1” (2.5cm).

Notions: Don’t forget to gather these essential tools: a tapestry needle for weaving in ends, and a ruler or tape measure to keep track of your progress.

These stylish and comfy socks can be knit either toe-up or top-down, providing flexibility based on your preferred method. Please note that the pattern is primarily written for constructing toe-up socks, allowing you to customize the design as you wish!

Get ready to impress yourself and others with your newfound sock-making skills! Dive into this expertly crafted sock pattern, and enjoy the process of knitting beautiful socks that make the most of those gorgeous variegated yarns in your stash.
