Rise And Fall
SIZES
This knitting pattern comes in a range of sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5). The finished foot circumference measures 17.5 (18.75, 20, 21.25, 22.5) cm, which translates to 7 (7.5, 8, 8.5, 9)” in standard sizes. We recommend wearing these socks with 0-2.5 cm / 0-1” of negative ease for the best fit and comfort.
GAUGE
To achieve the perfect fit, it’s essential to get the right gauge: 32 stitches x 44 rounds equals 10 x 10 cm when worked in the round using the Main Stitch Pattern on a 2.25 mm / US 1 needle. Be sure to check your gauge after blocking to ensure accuracy.
NEEDLES
You will need a 2.25 mm / US 1 circular needle (or a different needle size if necessary to obtain gauge) with a cable length of at least 60 cm / 24”. This will allow for comfortable knitting while ensuring your stitches remain neat and even.
NOTIONS
In addition to your needles, you’ll want to have the following notions ready: blocking tools (optional), a darning needle, scrap yarn or a stitch holder, stitch markers, and a tape measure. These tools will help streamline the knitting process, ensuring a professional finish.
TECHNIQUES
This pattern incorporates a variety of knitting techniques, perfect for knitters looking to expand their skills. You’ll learn Judy’s Magic Cast-On, Magic Loop, Short Rows, and the Toe-up method.
