When creating this delightful pattern, I strategically placed the cables only on the leg for two important reasons: Firstly, the intricate foot cables would likely be concealed by shoes, losing their visual appeal. Secondly, I had concerns that the cables might make the socks too thick to fit comfortably inside shoes. However, feedback from test knitters who took the adventurous route of continuing the cables all the way down the foot demonstrated that this wasn’t an issue at all, especially when using plump, round yarns.

I truly love seeing how our test knitters embraced this pattern, customizing it to match their personal preferences and styles. Several knitters opted to follow the chart and continued the beautiful cables down the foot, resulting in a stunning appearance that they absolutely adored. Others chose to incorporate a plain stocking stitch toe instead of the rib and cables, achieving a sleek and minimalist look. Additionally, some knitters decided to go for simple 1/1 side cables instead of the original 1/2 cables, showcasing their creativity and flair.
